About the Caribbean Red Habanero Pepper

95 days. A very colorful strain of habanero, Caribbean Red has a very unique flavor, much more potent than a typical Orange Habanero with a very pungent fruity aroma. 1 3/4 inches long by 2 inches wide wrinkled hot peppers. Treat this fireball with respect as it up to 400,000 Scoville units.

Growing Directions

Pepper plants thrive in the heat of summer, so you’ll want to make sure your Red Habanero’s receive full sunlight for the majority of the day, with temperatures of at least 75F. Plant in soil that is rich in organic matter with a pH level of at least 6.2. Ensure that your sowing medium is well-drained, and water plants daily until germination has occurred.

Harvesting Lemon Habanero Peppers

After about 90 days your fruits are going to be ready to harvest! Once they are about 1 inch in diameter and 2 inches long, and have turned a nice lemony yellow color, you’re ready to harvest. Snip or pick the stems an inch from the fruits and eat them fresh. You can also store them by drying, freezing or pickling/canning.
