Long Island Brussel Sprouts are the most common variety of Brussel Sprouts for home vegetable gardening. Plants are compact and grow up to 24 inches tall, yet produce lots of tight, tender heads that are about 1 1/2″ in diameter. Matures in about 100 days from sowing.

An excellent crop to grow in cold climates and in moist soil. Brussel Sprouts love to soak up the sun, and prefers soil to remain moist, so water often. Harvest sprouts once they are firm and 1 -2 inches in diameter. Simply twist the sprouts to remove from plant. If you wish to harvest them all at once, then you can force them to mature simultaneously by cutting off the top of the plant 3 weeks before you want to harvest.
